Sava Nikolić Poljanski was born on July 21, 1945 in a village Raklja near Aleksandrovac. During hard post war years he spent childhood in a village among numerous orchards and hilly vineyards full of the visual surprises.
It seems that he was mostly attracted by the nature in its purest and existence sense. This fatal love and dependence connection motivated him and left its deep imprint and reflection to the artistic deed of Poljanski.
Devoted to village and his native land with whest fields, he shows nostalgia to „extend wheat life (straw life) over the harvest time“.
Using a rare technique he creates paintings in his own out of wheat leaves, straw in unimaginable and countless combinations. The result confirm his original expression in a high technical level.
Within the last 24 years he has been exhibiting in Aleksandrovac for eight times, it is his birthplace where his instinctfor intensive creation was born, and than his attention was directed to wider space for exhibition: Kruševac, The Youth Center, National Theatre, Belgrade, Yugoslav Trade Union, NU Djuro Salaj, Engineer and Technicians Federation… Rovinj, Dubrovnik, Vrnjačka Banja, Subotica YPA Center, Brus, etc.
His artistic-creativity potential is evidence that his paintings are not only in the frame of his native land but much farther all over FRY and abroad.
Now, when Sava Nikolić reaches his creative peak, we wish him not to stop after so many exhibitions warmly accepted and visited. We wish him to have enough faith and to believe that for success needs hard and continuous work as well as permanent confirmation. |
